HomeForeign Affairs: Who We Are and What We DoArtists and Labels We are promoting at the moment or have done Contact Us

What's Foreign Affairs?
Actually FA started up in April 2004 when the founder received too many extra cds from a band and didn't want to bin 'em all. Hence, the first mail out took place.

So, what's FA about? Try to imagine a sort of Embassy where foreign (mostly British) bands can count on gaining exposure in Italian press and media. This can happen because of the many contacts FA has amongst journalists, editors and promoters who are very focused on the indie scene (read: British pop/rock, alternative, electro, etc)

On the other hand, there's a strong bond between FA council members and the hundreds of bands and labels that have been supporting by sending us their music to play/DJ or review - so it's about time to return the favour.

We want to get our contacts in the the Italian media working together with our friends on the UK music scene for the simple pleasure of giving our fave bands the reviews and exposure they deserve in Italy too.

To date, we can count on almost one thousand direct contacts in the music media industry, most of them are people who got in touch, showed enthusastic about the FA idea and ask to be kept informed..

Amongst the lot, there is national press (Rumore, Losing Today, Blow Up, Rockerilla, Il Mucchio Selvaggio) and radios (Radio Rai, Rock FM, Radio Lupo Solitario, Radio Citta' del Capo, Radio Popolare Network, etc) and webzines (Kataweb, Indiepop, IDBox, Rock On Line, Rocklab, Sentire e Ascoltare, Kathodik, Unmute, etc), and promoters, and pluggers, and ...

We can also count on our partners' myspace profiles DJs Martini Bros (for the indie/guitar) and Excuse Me (for the electro) both with 13000+ friends each.

"We used to be an indie band.
We used to save up pocket-money to spend on British records.
We used to make compilations... then gave them away.We used to review our favourite releases through fanzines, emails and the national press. We used to DJ, book our favourite artists and throw parties. We used to scream & shout.
We got to know people... and in turn got those people known.
We haven't quit...we've just given us a name: Foreign Affairs"
